In a season there are not many fishing days lost because of bad weather and sea conditions. Phuket has two main seasons. The “dry season” is generally from mid-October – to around May. During this period, the winds are mostly from the north east and the sea conditions usually good. During the “rainy season” from June to October, the winds turn around and will most come from the southwest. Phuket fishing season generally coincides with the high season for tourists. October, November and December will usually represent the most productive months for Marlin and Sailfish. During the rainy season; July, August and September, will the islands around Phuket many times have a good run of large shoals of Sailfish and some big Wahoo.
