SOLO – ScreenOff, LifeOn

Erasmus+ Youth Project | Türkiye

SOLO – ScreenOff, LifeOn is an Erasmus+ youth project coordinated by Academic Colors Association (Türkiye), with Coolvoyage Destinations participating as a project partner.

The project addresses one of the most relevant challenges affecting young people today: the growing impact of constant digital exposure on everyday life, relationships, attention and personal wellbeing.

SOLO invites young people to step outside automatic patterns of digital consumption and rediscover a more conscious relationship with technology, their surroundings and the people around them.

Disconnect to Connect

At the heart of SOLO is a simple idea: disconnecting does not mean rejecting technology.

Instead, the project encourages young people to understand how they use digital platforms, recognise the mechanisms that influence their attention and behaviour, and develop healthier and more intentional digital habits.

Through non-formal learning, group activities, reflection and shared experiences, participants explore the relationship between online and offline life while strengthening social interaction, creativity, self-awareness and responsible digital participation.

The aim is not to tell young people to stop using technology, but to give them the knowledge and practical awareness needed to make more conscious choices about how technology fits into their lives.

From Digital Consumption to Digital Awareness

Within SOLO, Coolvoyage Destinations contributes its experience in digital communication and non-formal learning through a progression based on three stages:

Passive Digital Consumer → Conscious Digital User → Responsible Digital Creator

The first stage encourages participants to recognise how digital platforms compete for attention and how everyday online behaviour can become passive or automatic.

The second focuses on becoming a Conscious Digital User, exploring digital footprint, privacy, online choices and the consequences of the information we consume and share.

The final stage moves from consumption to creation. As Responsible Digital Creators, young people are encouraged to use digital tools with greater purpose, understanding that creating and sharing content also involves responsibility towards audiences, communities and the wider digital environment.

Learning Through Experience

SOLO uses an experiential and participatory approach rather than traditional classroom-based instruction.

Young people learn through practical activities, discussion, collaborative challenges, reflection and interaction with participants from different cultural backgrounds.

This methodology creates a space where participants can question their own digital habits, exchange experiences and experiment with alternative ways of connecting, communicating and creating.

The international dimension of Erasmus+ adds another important layer: participants experience digital wellbeing not simply as an individual issue, but as a shared European challenge that can be explored through intercultural dialogue and peer learning.

Coolvoyage Destinations in SOLO

Coolvoyage Destinations participates in SOLO as an Erasmus+ project partner, contributing expertise in digital marketing, digital communication, content creation and youth-oriented non-formal learning.

Our contribution reflects a broader principle within the Coolvoyage educational approach: digital skills should not be limited to knowing how to use platforms and technologies.

Young people also need to understand why they use them, how those environments influence behaviour, and how digital tools can be transformed from instruments of passive consumption into tools for conscious communication and responsible creation.

Through SOLO, this approach becomes part of a wider international learning experience designed to help young people reconnect with themselves, with others and with the world beyond the screen.
