Sempre in Afghanistan mi sono fatto guidare da due studenti delle scuole coraniche. Mi hanno aiutato a vedere il mondo con i loro occhi, altrimenti avrei viaggiato utilizzando solo i miei occhi e i miei pregiudizi, andando solo dove le mie scelte mi portavano. Bisogna darsi tempo. Chi pensa di fare tutto in tre giorni, visitando ogni ora qualcosa, ha finito di vivere il viaggio, non può mai lasciarsi andare. Si dovrebbe poi viaggiare alla ricerca di qualcosa. Ci può essere chi è mosso dal desiderio di conoscere un posto dove si coltiva la barbabietola in modo diverso. è già qualcosa, è una ragione per viaggiare. Bisogna prepararsi alla scoperta, leggere qualcosa di bello, ritrovare la poesia del viaggio.
