The association was established to support young people in developing themselves socially, culturally, and athletically; to encourage their active participation in national and international projects; and to promote volunteerism, solidarity, and cultural exchange. In addition, we aim to strengthen young people’s personal development by organizing workshops and activities, increase their social awareness, and help raise responsible, productive individuals who contribute positively to society

Green Transition and Youth Response to the Climate Crisis and Youth Role of Employees

Green Transition and Youth Response to the Climate Crisis and Youth Role of Employees

What are the objectives of the project?

Our project, Youth Response to the Green Transition and Climate Crisis and the Role of Youth Workers, aims to strengthen youth workers’ knowledge, awareness and capacity for action in the areas of climate crisis, green transition and cultural heritage. By implementing our project, we want to support youth work in establishing a stronger connection with current social and environmental issues and actively involving young people in these matters.
In youth work, the climate crisis is often treated as an abstract, technical issue that is distant from young people’s daily lives.

This makes it difficult for young people to connect with the issue and take responsibility for it. In response to this problem, our project offers a learning approach that links the climate crisis to cultural heritage, local life and community resilience. In this way, youth workers will develop methods to make the climate crisis more concrete, understandable and meaningful for young people.

One of the main objectives of our project is to enhance the professional competence of youth workers. Participants will gain knowledge on climate awareness, green transition and the preservation of cultural heritage, and will also be introduced to non-traditional learning methods that they can use when working with young people on these themes.

Methods such as experiential learning, field visits, creative production and peer learning will strengthen the quality of youth work.ù
Another important objective is to enable youth workers to establish stronger links with the local context. Our project will be carried out in collaboration with local authorities, universities and civil society organisations. This will enable youth workers to become familiar with climate and environmental initiatives at the local level and develop the skills to collaborate with young people in these areas. Our project also supports international learning and solidarity.

Participants from Turkey, Italy and Germany will compare youth work approaches in different countries,
share good practices and participate in joint production processes. The joint declaration will be one of the concrete outcomes of this process and
will present a common approach to the climate crisis from a youth work perspective.

Ultimately, our project aims to strengthen youth workers’ knowledge, skills and methods, to link youth work more holistically to the climate crisis and green transition, and to enable young people to play a more active role in these areas. This approach will contribute to a sustainable, participatory and high-impact transformation in youth work.

Green Transition and Youth Response to the Climate Crisis and Youth Role of Employees

Planned Activities and Participants

The project, “Young People’s Response to the Green Transition and the Climate Crisis and the Role of Youth Workers,” is planned as a seven-day professional development event.

The activities are designed to support youth workers in integrating the themes of the climate crisis, the green transition, and cultural heritage into their youth work practices.protection.

Sustainable tourism practices, ecological awareness and responsible professional choices play a central role.

Activities based on experiential and participatory learning methods will be implemented within the scope of our project. Thematic workshops, field visits and observation studies addressing the relationship between the climate crisis and cultural heritage will be held throughout the programme.

Participants will examine the effects of the climate crisis in cultural heritage areas on site and evaluate these observations from a youth work perspective. Information sharing on local environmental and climate initiatives will take place through sessions with contributions from local authorities, universities and representatives of relevant institutions.

A significant part of the activities will consist of interactive group work and peer learning. Participants from partner countries will present examples of youth work implemented in their own countries, different approaches will be compared, and joint discussions will be held. As part of creative production activities, participants will produce short films, develop products relevant to the theme, and share these outputs.

A joint statement to be prepared during the programme will outline a common approach to the climate crisis and green transition from the perspective of youth
work.

Evaluation and reflection sessions will be held at the end of the project. In these sessions, participants will share what they have learned, the methods they have developed, and the steps they plan to implement in their own work.

The Youthpass process will be carried out to make the learning process visible and documented. Participants will identify the competences they have developed throughout the event and will be eligible to receive a Youthpass certificate at the end of the event.
A total of 29 participants will be included in our project.

Fifteen participants from Turkey and seven participants each from Italy and Germany will take part in the event.

There will be no age limit for participants. The participant profile will consist of youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, volunteer coordinators, representatives of civil society organisations and individuals actively working in fields related to youth work.

Priority will be given to individuals with experience in the areas of climate crisis, environment, cultural heritage and sustainability, or those aiming to work in these areas.

Thanks to the participant profile and certification process, this activity will offer a comprehensive learning process that supports the professional development of youth workers, strengthens international learning, and contributes to a more qualified approach to the themes of climate crisis and green transition in youth work.

Green Transition and Youth Response to the Climate Crisis and Youth Role of Employees

Results and impacts we expect to generate

Our project, Youth Response to Green Transition and Climate Crisis and the Role of Youth Workers, aims to create multi-layered results and impacts on youth workers, participating organisations and the wider youth field. These impacts will emerge in a complementary structure at individual, organisational and societal levels.

At the individual level, the most fundamental outcome of our project will be the strengthening of youth workers’ knowledge, awareness and implementation capacities. Participants will gain the ability to assess the relationship between the climate crisis, green transition and cultural heritage from a more holistic perspective. Through experiential learning, field visits, creative production and peer learning, they will develop new methods they can use when working with young people. This development will increase youth workers’ professional confidence and enable them to take on more effective roles in their work.

Our project will strengthen the working capacity of participating organisations at the institutional level. Organisations will be able to integrate the workshop drafts, training flows and methods developed during the project process into their own programmes. This will enable youth work to address the themes of climate awareness, green skills and cultural heritage in a more systematic manner. Organisations

will gain experience in developing stronger collaborations with local institutions, municipalities, and other stakeholders. At the societal level, our project will raise awareness among young people and local communities about the climate crisis and cultural heritage issues.

Short films, thematic products and joint statements produced within the scope of the project will be shared through youth centres, universities and local institutions. These shares will contribute to young people viewing the climate crisis not only as an environmental issue, but also as a cultural and social one.

At the international level, our project will establish a permanent platform for learning and cooperation between organisations from Turkey, Italy and Germany. Participants will compare youth work approaches implemented in different countries, share best practices and gain experience in developing future joint projects. The joint declaration will serve as a tangible outcome of this process, supporting the sustainability of international cooperation.

Overall, our project will create an impact that enhances the quality of youth work, integrates the themes of environmental sustainability and cultural heritage into youth work practice, and supports youth workers in taking on more active roles in social transformation processes.

This impact will not be limited to the project period but will continue in the long term through the daily work and institutional practices of the participants.
