Strategic Vision: Beyond Awareness

The MYLL-CST project does not merely discuss climate change; it operates at its intersection with tourism—the Mediterranean’s primary economic engine.

With this project we are building a crucial bridge between environmental protection and economic development.

Mission: To transform young people from “observers of decline” into “architects of the transition”.

Policy Objective: To influence local agendas so that tourism becomes regenerative rather than extractive.

Innovation: The implementation of the Living Lab model, where the territory itself becomes an open-air classroom.

A group of individuals are seen from behind, trekking through a shallow stream as sunlight streams across a rural landscape. Each person carries a backpack, suggesting a hiking or backpacking trip. The scene is bathed in the warm light of either sunrise or sunset, creating a soft and inviting atmosphere. Tall grasses line the banks of the stream, adding texture and depth to the composition. Rolling hills and a distant mountain range provide a scenic backdrop. The image could be used to evoke a sense of adventure, exploration, or outdoor recreation.

Anatomy of the Investment (Work Packages & Budget)

Every Euro of the €250,000.00 budget is directed towards a tangible result:

WP1 – Project Management (€45,000): The administrative engine ensuring quality, transparency, and constant coordination across the six countries.

WP2 – EU Local Youth Climate Labs (€55,000): The territorial soul. A lab is activated in each country where young people map local climate vulnerabilities and propose low-impact tourism solutions.

WP3 – MYLL Framework & Green Skills Matrix (€50,000): Intellectual production. This defines exactly what a young person needs to know to work in the ecological transition of the tourism sector today.

WP4 – Transnational Intensive Living Lab (€60,000): The pinnacle of cooperation. International mobility where the results from local labs merge into a shared Mediterranean vision.

WP5 – Final Toolkit & Replicability Model (€25,000): The creation of a digital user manual so that the Coolvoyage experience can be adopted by other cities across Europe and the world.

WP6 – European Dissemination & Policy Uptake (€15,000): Bringing results from local labs to the tables of Brussels and national governments.

Tangible Results

At the end of the 24-month period, the project will leave a lasting legacy:

Local Climate Reports: Scientific and participatory analyses produced by the youth.

MYLL Toolkit: An interactive guide for trainers and decision-makers.

Green Skills Charter: A European standard for the sustainable tourism sector.

Policy Briefs: Concrete recommendations to turn tourism into a positive force for the climate.
