Qui si sta formando una grande comunità italiana (10.000 italiani di cui quasi 500 pensionati, dati pre COVI-19) che sceglie di vivere soprattutto sulle splendide isole (Phuket è la preferita) dove il clima è soleggiato e la popolazione thai molto gentile ed accogliente, ma anche Pattaya ha il suo appeal sopratutto perchè in questa località gli affitti sono leggermente più bassi. Qui un affitto mensile costa mediamente 350 euro, un pasto 2,5 euro, le bollette 15 euro al mese e ci sono importanti opportunità per l’acquisto delle case e sulle cure mediche.
