Definition of sustainable and responsible tourism

Because today tourism is the main economic activity of the globe, second only to oil; because there are 5 billion “arrivals” each year in the countries of the world, because it employs millions of workers (1 every 15 employed all over the world) and is destined to grow exponentially in the next decades, favored by the development of transport and communications.

Because tourism implemented without respecting the principles of sustainability, solidarity and social responsibility, especially in its mass and luxury applications, has often had very negative effects on environments, cultures, societies, economies in the destination countries, and it is therefore it is essential that precise limits and appropriate implementation conditions are established for its development.
International Training and Awareness Campaign for Responsible Tourism “Fair Tourism”: “They offer you their friendship, give you their culture, give you their experience. Those who travel with “responsible tourism” receive a lot from local people. And furthermore, it promotes real development, giving work directly to individual communities and eliminating the devastating impact of mass tourism. Do you know better souvenirs? “

HOW IT DOES: Definition adopted by AITR
Before the trip, becoming aware, protagonists and participants of their choice of travel and its consequences, personally engaging in an information journey on the country that you want to visit and on the importance of the journey as a moment of growth and cultural interchange as well as moment of leisure and fun.

During the journey, recognizing and respecting the uses, customs, rights and beliefs of all the peoples that host us, recognizing their centrality in our experience.

After the journey, exploring the issues addressed during the responsible tourism experience so that “our responsible journey” does not remain a “private” experience, but knows how to influence the choices of our social network by spreading the idea that “traveling responsibly” is better !

Conoscete forse souvenir migliori?”

Network + Service

This network of websites was born for Italian travelers, but growing up we fly back to the whole world, so we developed essentially bilingual DMC sites. That said, all that’s left is to wish for good sailing and a good trip.

SW6 Destinations Ltd is the owner of this site, which is a travel search service and information provider. We do not sell travel products or services. We help you search for third-party travel products and services. All information is valid at the time of publication. However, suppliers can update their offers for various reasons at any time, so we cannot guarantee that the offers will not change or become available. Furthermore, we are not responsible for the products, services or content of the third-party site.

How this site was born

For us, staying alert means going down as much as possible into the reality we encounter. Let your curiosity guide you. And follow a discussion. When I travel, I let myself be guided by chance, by casual encounters and by unexpected events. A list of good restaurants or fabulous panoramas is not enough, you need your heart, you have to love a place, you have to love a philosophy, you have to dive because a trip is not a simple holiday.

Our travel guides are born from a thought, an idea that a great traveler of our time

Terzani, What does traveling mean to you? It means getting down as much as possible into the reality you meet. Let yourself be guided by curiosity. And follow a thread. When I travel, I let myself be guided by chance, by chance encounters and by the unexpected. As happened to me in November in Afghanistan, when I met a Taliban chief in a bazaar in Peshawar. Also in Afghanistan, I was led by two students from the Koranic schools. They helped me to see the world with their own eyes, otherwise I would have traveled using only my eyes and my prejudices, going only where my choices took me. Time must be taken. Whoever thinks of doing everything in three days, visiting something every hour, has finished the journey, can never let go. You should then travel in search of something. There may be those who are moved by the desire to know a place where beetroot is grown in a different way. it’s already something, it’s a reason to travel. We must prepare for the discovery, read something beautiful, find the poetry of the journey.

For us, staying alert means going down as much as possible into the reality we encounter. Let your curiosity guide you.
